I say with no exaggeration that my tenure at NEC was one of the most interesting and fulfilling years of my career and life. Being part of an international cohort of interdisciplinary scholars really helped me conceptualise my project on ideas and borderlands in new and interesting ways. Living in Bucharest was an experience unlike any other: exciting, challenging, beautiful, and delicious. It provided me with endless opportunity to reimagine Europe and European history from many different perspectives and lifelong friends as well as colleagues across the globe who will continue to shape the way I understand my work.
