Location & FacilitiesAbout Us
NEC is located in a traditional residential district of Bucharest, typical of its late 19th and early 20th century architecture.
The house now occupied by the College was built in 1910; it was thoroughly restored and remodelled when we moved here in 2000, to suit the needs of the College. The house includes a multipurpose conference hall seating up to a hundred people, with sound and video facilities; in addition, there are two seminar rooms, where smaller groups can organise meetings.
“An institution cannot grow without an address, just as an egg cannot hatch without a nest.”

NEC offers office and accommodation spaces for its fellows.
NEC fellowships cover the accommodation throughout the duration of the fellows’ stay in Bucharest. Fellows are hosted either on NEC premises or in apartments rented in the vicinity of the Institute. All spaces provide access to internet and kitchen facilities.
NEC fellows are welcome to work in three offices, as well as in the library reading rooms. WiFi is available throughout the building.
