This research explores the distinctive integration of war soundscapes in contemporary Ukrainian ballet, shaped by the country’s cultural, historical, and technological context. It focuses on how Ukrainian composers and choreographers utilize electroacoustic music – ranging from fully electronic to hybrid compositions—to express the trauma and resilience of wartime realities. These sonic innovations not only reflect global trends in modern ballet but also contribute to the development of a unique Ukrainian identity within the international dance community. Through case studies the study examines the creative strategies behind blending electronic and acoustic sounds. The rise of sound artists, often without traditional academic training, marks a shift in the role of the composer, emphasizing sound design and experimental audio techniques. The research adopts a multidisciplinary methodology combining music theory, performance analysis, and dance criticism to assess the impact of these practices on choreography, audience perception, and narrative form. By analyzing scores, soundtracks, and production contexts, the study highlights how electroacoustic techniques redefine ballet’s expressive capacity, transforming traditional musical forms into immersive soundscapes that resonate with Ukraine’s evolving socio-cultural and artistic identity.
