Research project: Dimensions and Effects of Kinstate Policy: A Comparative Analysis of the Hungarian Communities in Romania and Ukraine

I aim to map effects of Viktor Orbán’s kinstate policy on Hungarians in Romania and Ukraine. I focus on the post-2010 period and investigate micro-level (e.g., individual identity processes), meso-level (e.g., minority institutions) and macro-level (e.g., processes of political bargaining) consequences of the kinstate policy. In micro-level analysis I rely on existing qualitative and quantitative data, while meso- and macro-level impacts will be investigated through semi-structured interviews.
