The project explores the historical actorness of the border river Zbruch and analyzes its area as a contact zone and riverscape.
The research addresses the multilateral impact of the Zbruch on inter-ethnic and transborder relations as well as the use of the river as a natural resource and as a symbolic space. The project contributes to transcultural and environmental history of the region and creates an innovative river-centered analytical model in the field of East-Central European History
