In this project, I examine waiting in Romanian healthcare as a historically situated practice. Combining in-depth interviews with at least 45 users and a qualitative content analysis of newspapers published between 1970 and 2025, I explore how waiting has been produced and morally interpreted across late socialism, the post-1989 transition, and recent years, and what consequences it has for access to and everyday experiences of care.
