Tangled Antennas: A Cold War History of Radio for Greek Migrants
The scope of my project Tangled Antennas is to explore the Cold War airwaves’ battle over the Greek migrants’ political credos and inclinations. West Germany is my target country as the migrants’ host country and top destination in the 1960s, but also as a par-excellence front-line state. My specific focus being the Greek migrant workers in West Germany, I use radio as a looking glass to situate them as targets of a game of allegiances, balancing on the invisible air borders of the Iron Curtain.
