As Romania will be “the honour guest country at the Frankfurt Book Fair” in 2028, Jörg Plath’s project consists in making a 55-minute feature dedicated to contemporary Romanian literature which has already been translated into German, or is going to be over the next year.

Jörg Plath is a radio editor specialising in literature at the Deutschlandfunk Kultur national radio station in Berlin, and a reviewer for Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and Neue Zürcher Zeitung. Previously he was a book editor, ghostwriter and juror for Deutscher Buchpreis (German Book Prize) and for Internationaler Literaturpreis (International Literature Award). Jörg Plath’s stay in Bucharest in May 2026 is supported by New Europe College and the TRADUKI Network.
