Daniela Petrea is a Romanian philologist specializing in Bulgarian and Romanian languages. She graduated from the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Bucharest, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Bulgarian and Romanian Language and Literature, followed by a Master’s degree in Slavic Languages.

Her interest in translating Keder by Yordanka Beleva is deeply rooted in her engagement with contemporary Bulgarian literature. She particularly admires her poetic style and her ability to transform ordinary experiences into profound reflections on memory, identity, family, and human vulnerability.
