Research Project

Tailoring as Cultural Technology

Regarded as a traditional craft, tailoring operates as a cultural technology shaped by algorithmic thinking, embodied knowledge, and material practice. Building on my previous research on tailoring manuals in HU and FR and on the renewed interest in tailoring in contemporary fashion, the research extends to Romania through archival study and oral history interviews. Situated between science and technology studies and fashion studies, it contributes to academic research and a non-fiction book.
