This project will examine the interrelations between gender, the representation of violence, and transitional justice in relation to the Bucharest pogrom. The pogrom was one of the first very violent episodes of the Holocaust in Romania. Through the analysis of previously unresearched sources, the project aims to reconstruct the participation of legionary women in the pogrom, the representation of their violent acts, and the trials that convicted the perpetrators in the aftermath of the pogrom.
